Our design intent was to seamlessly infuse this new home within the 70-year-old neighborhood and meet the client’s needs. We specified construction materials that complemented the home and blended well with natural materials. We used plant material that could handle extreme heat, would not interfere with the feel of that era, and considered the voracious deer and rabbits active in this area. On the Builder plans, the proposed home was originally specified further back on the lot, but after struggling to place the pool with enough patio space, permission was obtained from the city to plan the house closer to the front property line. The shed was incorporated into the house footprint and became a space that accommodated the pool equipment as well.
